This hill of clay-red soil rises to an elevation of just over 300 meters to the south of Piave river; to the inhabitants of the many towns surrounding it, it is known as the “green lung” for its lush vegetation. The hill was already known during the times of the Venetians dating back to the era of the Serenissima Republic, who harvested its timber to supply the Venetian shipyards. Over the intervening years it has been completely deforested, with the ancient oak forests being replaced by farmlands which yielded poor harvests, up to the current ecosystem comprising a great many varieties of tree, but mainly the introduced invasive species False Acacia.
It is in this microclimate that one of the most renowned gastronomic products of the area thrives: the famous honey mushroom (Armillaria Mellea), known to locals by its dialect name “ciodet”. This mushroom grows spontaneously during fall and develops a range of flavors influenced by the species of tree trunk they are found on. [vc_row][vc_column][ultimate_spacer height=”20″ height_on_tabs=”20″ height_on_mob=”20″][vc_column_text]Per lo shooting day Nature by Marsupio abbiamo scelto uno dei luoghi di grande importanza per il nostro territorio, il Montello.
Questa collina di terra rossa, che si eleva poco oltre i 300 metri a sud del Piave, è il polmone verde delle numerose cittadine che lo circondano. Già noto ai tempi della Serenissima, dal quale essa si riforniva di legname per i cantieri navali veneziani, nel corso degli anni fu completamente disboscato. Ai secolari boschi di quercia si susseguirono poderi agricoli poco fruttuosi, fino all’attuale ecosistema formato da associazioni miste tra le quali predomina l’infestante robinia.
In questo microclima si sviluppa uno tra i prodotti gastronomici più rinomati della Marca, il celebre chiodino (Armillaria Mellea).
I “ciodet” come vengono chiamati dai residenti, crescono spontaneamente in autunno e hanno un diverso sapore in base al tronco su cui crescono. La sicurezza è data dal fatto che non dovrete più tenere in mano il cestino ed avrete entrambe le mani e le braccia libere. Un dettaglio da non sottovalutare per le escursioni su terreni scoscesi che sono l’ambiente ideale per la crescita dei funghi.

Nel caso di una raccolta varia e consistente è indispensabile preservare la freschezza del prodotto, anche quello che si trova sul fondo.
